The primary purpose of Scotland Decides is to provide a secure, encrypted and fully verifiable voting platform but that is far from its only purpose.

Registration is open to every person in Scotland over the age of sixteen. It is a two stage process. In the first place you will receive a confirmation email. Contained in the email is your unique Voting Code. It is essential that you take a careful note of this Code and do not share it with anyone. All personal information is taken offline after the registration and is not used for the voting app. Please note that anyone registering who is not resident within a Scottish postcode area will be rejected but the registration fee may not be returned.

We charge a registration fee of £2.00. This is a one-off fee and no further fees will be charged. The reason for this charge is to ensure that we are not beholden in any way to any outside funding agency and can guarantee our full independence. We welcome voluntary donations from individuals and organisations but these are accepted on the strict understanding that they are unconditional and we do not publish the names of donors. 

When the registrations reach 50,000 you will each receive access to a secure voting app. You will be able to access this app using your Voting Code. No personal information is sent to the app except for your Voting Code. From time to time voting using the Code only may be invited. This process is for survey purposes or for local initiatives. Organisations (not political parties) may canvass their members as they wish. This facility is subject to charge. Individuals may propose any question they wish and if the proposal receives adequate support, it may be put to a vote. In certain cases it may be agreed to open the voting on the app. The app works on distributed ledger technology or blockchain and verification through such a vote has legal authority both nationally and internationally (where appropriate).

There is a members' area to which individuals and organisations may join free of charge. There you will find a forum for discussion and an area where proposals may be presented for potential voting. In addition, you may volunteer to help with the administration of the platform. We are looking to appoint admins who will receive full training and will be paid at an hourly rate of £15.00.

This platform is not about independence in isolation. It is about self-determination. Regardless of where your sentiments may lie in the matter of independence, we will be raising and voting on a wide range of issues where many of us may feel that our views are not being properly addressed by politicians. Everyone should sign up and have their say. We can hold votes on local issues or a full referendum at any time we wish and for a fraction of the cost of a conventional referendum. All legally verifiable.
